This four-layer pudding dessert has many names.  Some aunts remembered first making it when it was called the Robert Redford.  They tried to think of what movie star to rename it after now, but we didn’t come up with an answer.

My husband has always known this as the Chocolate Delight, but others call it the Four Layer Pudding Dessert, 4 Layer Delight, Chocolate Lush or Chocolate Yum Yum. Chocolate is definitely the star of the show among all of the layers.

In my husband’s family at a potluck you’ll always find Oreo Dirt Cake or Chocolate Delight on the dessert table.  On a good day both of these classics will be there!

The good news is that regardless of what you call it this dessert tastes GREAT!  An aunt said that the extra cream cheese layer makes this easy dessert for a crowd extra special.  Her grandson told me that the mini chocolate chips sprinkled on top make it extra special to him.  Another grandchild shared that they would rather have this pudding, cool whip, and cream cheese dessert for their birthday than a cake.

My husband would disagree because he has always asked for his mom’s Best Rich and Moist Chocolate Cake for his birthday, that is until we made this Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake and now that’s all he thinks about.  So genetics and family can differ, but at the end of the day, any of the desserts that we share here on the website are delicious and make people happy!
