Why I Love This Caramel Cookies Recipe

What makes these Caramel Cookies unique is that dark brown sugar is the only sweetener used. There’s no granulated sugar to soften or dilute the flavor.

Seven common ingredients mix together to create a nice homemade cookie that fits well in our rotation of classics treats like Oat Bran Cookies, Soft Gingersnap Cookies and Peanut Butter Bars.

Make the no fuss recipe as is for a simple old fashioned flavor, or mix in chocolate chips or drizzle with melt caramel and sprinkle with sea salt for for a more modern twist.

What You’ll Love:

  • As the cookies bake, the dark brown sugar creates a deep, rich caramel taste that gives these classic cookies their distinctive flavor.

Once removed from the heat allow cookies to rest on the baking sheet for a few more minutes. This allows the old fashioned caramel cookies to finish baking. Transfer to a cooling rack to finish cooling.

  • Sprinkle the balls of dough with a little sugar if desired.
  • Bake a single cookie to determine the proper baking time for your oven to get the best results.
