Easy Halloween Snack For School Parties

Every year I try to send a fun Halloween snack to my son’s party at school. I like to make something that is easy, fun and doesn’t have too much sugar. This quick Halloween recipe fit the bill.
Treats made of crispy rice cereal and marshmallows are my favorite snack for kids. Most kids love them and they are so easy! They only take ten minutes to make!
Easy Halloween Snacks for Kids
This year I decided to jazz up the cereal bars by searching for something fun and Halloween themed to put in each square. I found the spider rings with gemstones.
We have several cereal bar recipes we love from our Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easy Christmas Tree Treats and Unicorn Party food idea. It only makes sense to put a fun twist on a classic recipe to create an Easy Halloween Snack for Kids.
Here are a variety of fun Halloween themed toy ideas on Amazon. Kids love putting the spider ring on and trying to scare each other, so this is a fun treat to eat with an activity already included!
Going to school parties is one of my favorite ways to participate in my kid’s life. As a working parent, I’m unable to volunteer and be around the school on a regular basis, but I can go to parties. I love learning more about the students that we hear about at home and see personalities in action.
It’s also fun to see the great games that the crafty moms come up with for the kids to play. I always think, maybe in my 40s, I’ll have time to do that kind of stuff. But I keep getting closer to 40 and my schedule doesn’t seem to open up, so maybe we should focus on setting more realistic goals for the rest of my 30s.
Realistic goals for me include coming up with a variation of a rice crispy treat that kids will love for each holiday. Since these easy Halloween snacks for kids only take 10-15 minutes to make that goal is achievable for me!
How to Smooth Out Rice Krispie Treats
Growing up we always used a butter covered spoon to smooth out the treats, but a couple of years ago I learned to wet my fingers to prevent the treats from sticking. Smoothing with wet fingers is much quicker and easier. If the treats start to stick quickly wet your fingers again. Repeat as needed until smooth!
Once the treats were smooth, I set a ring on each piece while they were still soft. Once ring spacing is determined push each ring straight down into the Rick Krispie Treats. Cut with a butter knife or sharp knife before going into the classroom party to save time.
Sometimes I like to bag the treats individually and sometimes I just help the other parent volunteers set out the food on a plate for each student.
**Note that the toys are for decoration only and are not edible
I love how fun and festive this treat looks! I’m glad that I can make a quick and easy treat for my son and his classmates to enjoy! I simply added some spider web to our table underneath the dish and around the plates to make the snack even more fun!
We always have rice crispy cereal on hand to make treats and I’ve shared how we how we’ve made them special for so many holidays. My personal favorite version of Rice Krispie treats is our Oreo Cookie Treats. We hope you enjoy these fun treats as much as we do!
