Caramel Cookies

These Old Fashioned Caramel Cookies are simple, classic cookies with a rich caramel flavor created by using plenty of brown sugar. They're easy to make and perfect for enjoying with a cup of coffee or sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375℉.
  • Cream butter and brown sugar for at least three minutes.
    1 cup butter, 2 cups dark brown sugar
  • Add eggs and vanilla and beat well for another two minutes.
    3 eggs, 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • In a separate bowl mix together dry ingredients.
    4 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Slowly dry ingredients to the butter and brown sugar mixture and stir until combined.
  • Use a cookie scoop and drop onto a lined baking sheet. Press down lightly to help flatten.
  • Bake for 8 - 9 minutes until cookies are very lightly browned across the top.

Notes

  • Sprinkle the balls of dough with a little sugar if desired.
  • Bake a single cookie to determine the proper baking time for your oven to get the best results.
