These Devil’s Food Cookies from a box of cake mix are a super easy way to get a chocolate fix! Make sure to have a cup of milk ready to enjoy with these cookies.

Devil’s Food Cookies Recipe
Also know as Quick Cake Mix Cookies this chocolatey Devil’s Food Cookies dessert recipe only takes a few minutes to mix together. There’s only six ingredients which saves so much time on measuring and mixing.
These cookies are so easy my kids will mix them up quickly to share.
Grab any box of cake mix to make these super easy cookies. A bag of chocolate chips mixed with Devil’s food cake mix creates double chocolate perfection. Just like our very popular Box Mix Chocolate Cake semi-sweet chocolate chips are mixed with a Devil’s Food Cake mix.
If you have a plate full of cookies these are some of the first to disappear because chocolate is so hard to resist. Some other chocolate desserts we crave are Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookies and Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake, also from a box mix.

Ingredients Needed:
- Devil’s Food Cake mix – or your favorite box of cake mix
- Water
- Flour
- Oil
- Egg
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Chopped nuts – optional
Other variations:
We also love adding a mini peanut butter cup in the center of the cookie with 2 – 3 minutes left in the baking time.
Chocolate chips can be replaced with white, peanut butter or butterscotch chips.
Colorful sprinkles can be added just before baking for a special birthday or holiday treat. Lighter colors like pastels will have more contrast with the brown color and show up better.
How to Make Devil’s Food Cookies From A Cake Mix
Pour cake mix into a large mixing bowl. Mix in additional flour, water, oil and egg. Mix and use a spatula to scrape the edges.
Add semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped nuts if using. Mix slowly for a short time with an electric mixer or fold in by hand.
Grease a baking sheet or use a non-stick baking mat. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop cookie dough onto baking sheet. Bake at 325°F for 9 – 10 minutes.
Enjoy these cake mix chocolate cookies warm or at room temperature.
Can These Cookies Be Frozen?
After cookies have cooled to room temperature place on a baking sheet with a non-stick mat. Put sheet in a level place in the freezer until cookies are frozen. Then stack cookies in a freezer safe self-sealing bag and return to the freezer for up to 3 months.

Easy Devil’s Food Cookies

- 1 box Devil's food cake mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 12 ounces chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional
Instructions

Can I substitute water with fresh milk
Hello! I haven’t tested this option, but I do think the cookies have a richer flavor with milk. Please let me know if you give it a try. Hope you enjoy 🙂
