This Spaghetti Pizza is for families like mine that need EASY pasta meals that everyone can enjoy! Farmhouse Crock Pot Spaghetti and Air Fryer Pizza Sliders are regulars on our menu. This spaghetti pizza is the perfect combination of the two!
My husband’s Godfather shared this recipe with us. He’s got four grown kids and shared that they made this pizza and spaghetti meal combination at least once a week for their family dinner because it’s so simple!
My kids love meals with pasta. Creamy Chicken Pasta Casserole and Pasta with Marinara and Alfredo are other regular pasta dishes on our menu, but we do work hard to eat a balanced diet including all of the food groups. Without a little planning and adult supervision, the kids would eat pasta at least 15 times a week.

What Do I Need to Make Spagetti Pizza?
- Spaghetti – I typically use a box of 14.5 ounce protein plus thin spaghetti, but up to 16 ounces of your favorite brand is fine.
- Mozzarella Cheese – A quality shredded cheese, made with whole milk maximizes the flavor.
- Eggs – Helps the spaghetti stick together and adds protein.
- Milk – Helps all of the ingredients mix together better in the spaghetti crust layer.
- Garlic Powder – Adds a little extra flavor, minced garlic can be stirred into the sauce as a substitute.
- Salt – A simple seasoning.
- Spaghetti Sauce – We like a jar and a half of regular sized Prego. Regular, garlic or mushroom sauce can add a slight pop of flavor.
- Oregano – An optional seasoning that creates a bit more Italian flavor.
- Pepperoni – Adds the meaty flavor and gives this pasta dish the pizza look.
How to Make Pizza with a Spaghetti Crust
- Make spaghetti crust by mixing eggs, milk, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, garlic powder and salt together
- Cook and drain spaghetti. The spaghetti can be returned to the large pot to mix up the crust.
- Add cheese and egg mixture and stir well. Spread into greased 15 x 10 x 1 jelly roll pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes.
- Make pizza topping by combining pasta sauce and oregano. Spread evenly over baked spaghetti.
- Sprinkle on remaining cheese. Add pepperoni in an even layer on top.
- Bake 30 minutes and let stand 5 minutes before cutting.
Can I Use a 9 x 13 Pan?
This recipe can be made in a 9×13 baking dish, but it is thicker which means increasing cooking time. Also know the layers will slide around a bit more during the serving process.
Step By Step Instructions
Cook a box of spaghetti according to the directions on the package in a pot of salted water.
Drain and return pasta to the pot.
Quickly add milk and lightly beaten eggs and stir together.
Then add a the crust portion of the mozzarella cheese and stir again.
Spread in 10 x 15 x 1″ jelly roll pan that has a light coating of non-stick cooking spray.
Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 15 minutes.
Then spread a layer of pasta sauce on top of the spaghetti crust.
Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
Then spread pepperoni randomly across the top or in rows.
Bake for another 30 minutes until the cheese is melted and the casserole is warmed through.
Spagetti pizza tastes great served warm or the kids prefer room temperature.
Does Ground Beef Work In This Recipe?
Ground beef works fine in spaghetti pizza, we like to add some seasonings like garlic salt, Italian seasoning or oregano and granulated garlic. Add the ground beef as an extra layer between the spaghetti mixture and cheese layer or stir into the spaghetti.
Tips for Making Spaghetti Pizza Casserole
- We prefer angel hair spaghetti cooked in water that is well seasoned with salt
- Spaghetti that is broken in half or in thirds is easiest to stir, cut and serve
- Pepperoni can easily be substituted for sausage
- Meal can be made spicy by adding toppings that bring the heat
- Make this pasta meal into a Lenten Casserole by replacing the pepperonis with sliced onions and chopped bell peppers
- Push sauce and toppings as close to the edge of the spaghetti as possible without making them run over the edge
- Add a layer of grated parmesan cheese for even more flavor

How to Store Spaghetti Pizza
Let this casserole cool and then store covered tightly, in an airtight container or ziplock bag in the refrigerator for up to 3 – 5 days. We like to cut into individual pieces and place in smaller serving containers before refrigerating. Then when someone needs a quick meal their serving is ready to go. Our son love packing pieces of the spaghetti casserole in his school lunch.
Can you Freeze Spaghetti Casserole
Yes! A cool casserole can be frozen in the original pan or cut into individual servings to freeze. Freeze in an airtight container or ziplock bag.
This casserole makes a great freezer meal. Sometimes I like to add a little extra sauce or cheese when reheating to make a great reheated meal.

I took a couple slight liberties with this, but I’m very pleased with how it turned out! I made this to give away, and did not have a jelly roll pan that I could part with. I ended up putting it in a 13-in by 21-in aluminum pan. To compensate on the crust, I made a little extra spaghetti. Terrific!
So glad to hear this! Thanks for letting us know!
Oh wow, I just took this out of the oven. I can’t fit it to cool so I can cut and taste it.
Made it – and it is awesome! Will add meat and mushroom next time. How do you reheat it?
Hey There! Thanks so much for sharing! We just reheat in the microwave with a silicone cover on top to prevent splattering. Hope you continue to enjoy this recipe!
M mom made this growing up and I have searched for this recipe never finding it. So glad to find this! I add hamburger and onion in the meat sauce and Parmesan with the mozzarella. So delicious!
