Chicken, bacon and ranch make one of the best flavor combinations for an easy meal! This simple spin on pizza and a wrap makes a delicious Chicken Bacon Ranch Stromboli.

Dipping each warm piece in a little ranch dressing makes this chicken bacon ranch recipe even better!

Stromboli with Chicken Bacon & Ranch

This semi-homemade recipe starts with a loaf of frozen bread dough to create a warm and wonderful dish that’s full of flavor. Simply defrost the dough, cover with a layer of ranch, sprinkle on chopped chicken, bacon and shredded mozzarella to make a heavenly appetizer or meal.

Farmhouse Stromboli is one of my all-time favorite recipes that I got from my home economics teacher in middle school. She shares that this simple variation using precooked or leftover chicken cut in small pieces, bacon bits and cheese is one of her family’s favorite meals.

This meal is simple to make with pre-cooked or leftover chicken. Using leftovers from our Baked Parmesan Chicken Tenders, Chicken Fajitas, or Garlic Baked Chicken is absolutely wonderful!

She also chops us broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms, or whatever veggies she has in her fridge to add a little color and fiber. While many flavors can be added, the secret to a perfect stromboli is not to overfill it.

We like to enhance this dish by using leftover grilled chicken and dipping in additional ranch.

A Spin on Chicken Bacon Ranch Melt

The lightly browned crust on the stromboli covering fresh homemade bread filled some of my favorite flavors creates a wonderfully easy chicken bacon ranch melt.

We are big fans of Subway whether it’s making Italian BMTs or Chicken, Bacon & Ranch Sliders at home or enjoying this Subway like Chicken Bacon Ranch Melt. This is the closest copycat recipe we’ve made to a chicken bacon ranch sandwich.

If you cut the baked loaf into bigger pieces it looks and feels just like a pocket or sandwich. Another warm open-faced recipe we have is our Italian Chicken Bacon Ranch Subs. I love that this recipe has more bread wrapped all around the bacon, cheese, chicken and ranch flavors.

How to Make Chicken Bacon Ranch Stromboli

Place a loaf of frozen bread dough on a lightly greased baking sheet. Cover with plastic wrap and defrost 8 to 12 hours on the counter or in the refrigerator. Placing a second sheet on top of the dough will help prevent it from rising.

Use finger to press dough out to cover as much of the baking sheet as possible.

Mix up oil and spice mixture of vegetable oil, ranch seasoning packet, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder and oregano. Spread evenly over the dough.

In a row down the center line up cubed chicken, bacon bits and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Take a long side of the dough and fold it over top of the cheese.

Fold each end in.

Starting with the full side along the bottom edge of the pan keep rolling.

Gently press seams to seal along the ends and center.

I typically move the stromboli to the center of the baking sheet with the seam side down.

Over top of a small dish break an egg in the center and only allow the egg white to fall in the dish. The yolk will not be used in this recipe.

Use a fork to beaten the egg white until bubbles start to form.

Using a pastry brush spread the egg white over top of the dough before baking.

Bake in a 350°F for 20 – 25 minutes until the top is golden brown. Allow to rest for 10 minutes after removing from the oven and slice.

We like to serve with a small dish of ranch dressing for dipping.

The leftovers reheat beautifully and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and can be frozen for up to three months.

Tips for Making Chicken Bacon Ranch Stromboli

  • Up to a cup of chopped vegetables taste great added to this chicken bacon ranch stromboli.
  • Take care not to allow the dough to rise too much during defrosting or it will be more difficult to work with.
  • Be careful when pressing out dough not to create any thin spots or holes in the dough or the ingredients will melt out that opening during baking.
  • Pinch and seal seams together to help keep ingredients inside during baking.
  • Ranch seasoning can be substituted for prepared ranch dressing in oil and spice mixture, just decrease the amount of oil used.
  • Mozzarella cheese can easily be substituted for your favorite shredded cheese. Cheddar tastes great too.
  • Be careful not to overfill stromboli.
  • Egg white can be omitted, but the stromboli looks so much tastier with a golden brown finish.
