Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

If you like a little added something special, juicy strawberries are a great way to dress up breakfast. Serve with our classic Sausage, Egg and Cheese Casserole or a Crescent Roll Breakfast Pizza to round out the meal.

Taking inspiration from our Canned Cinnamon Rolls with Heavy Cream, we love how a sweet crunchy cinnamon topping bakes on strawberries to enhance rich cinnamon roll with a soft center. We often enjoy fruit with breakfast, but baking it into a package of canned cinnamon rolls creates a whole new experience.  

The heavy cream makes the rolls fluffier and the strawberry adds an enjoyable fruity flavor to create a semi homemade recipe for strawberry cream cinnamon rolls.

Ingredients Needed

  • Can of Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls – Pillsbury Grands or the store brand work equally well. Be sure to keep the icing for later.
  • Butter – Go for the real dairy product here for full flavor, skip the margarine
  • Heavy Whipping Cream – Adds the richness to balance out all of the sweet flavor.s
  • Brown Sugar – Adds a sweet layer on top that becomes a bit crunchy as it bakes.
  • Cinnamon – Creates a warm, enjoyable flavor to give balance to each roll.
  • Powdered Sugar – The base of the sweet icing.
  • Milk – Turns the confectionery sugar or powdered sugar into icing.
  • Strawberries – We like to chop fresh strawberries and layer on top before baking. Other variations include grinding freeze dried strawberries, but that takes extra effort.
Ingredients to make strawberry cinnamon rolls are fresh strawberries, Pillsbury Grands cinnamon rolls, heavy cream, brown sugar, milk, powdered sugar and cinnamon on a wooden counter top.

How to Make Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls

Preheat oven to 350℉. Coat a square 8 x 8″ or 9 x 9″ baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

Open can of jumbo cinnamon rolls and arrange in the baking dish evenly spaced out.

Pour heavy whipping cream in between the rolls, covering any empty space in the bottom of the baking dish.

In a microwave safe bowl melt butter. Then stir in brown sugar and cinnamon.

Mix well and spoon evenly over top of the rolls.

Dice fresh strawberries and pile on top of each unbaked roll.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the center of the rolls are baked through. The center of the cinnamon rolls should be soft, but not gooey.

In a small mixing bowl vigorously stir together powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Add 1 tablespoon of milk at a time until icing reaches desired consistency.

Then stir in packet of prepared icing and mix well.

Ingredients
  

Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls

  • 1 can jumbo cinnamon rolls
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup strawberries diced

Icing

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 packet prepared icing

Instructions
 

Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls

  • Preheat oven to 350℉. Lightly coat a square 8 x 8" baking dish with non-stick spray. Place cinnamon rolls equally spaced in the bottom of the dish.
    1 can jumbo cinnamon rolls
  • Pour heaving whipping cream over the rolls.
    1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • In a small mixing bowl melt butter and stir in brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread evenly over the rolls.
    1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup light brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Carefully spoon diced strawberries over top of unbaked rolls.
    1 cup strawberries
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until rolls are no longer gooey in the center and baked through.

Icing

  • After rolls are baked mix together powdered sugar, butter, and milk. Stir in packet of prepared icing from the tube of rolls. Add additional milk 1 tablespoon at a time if necessary to reach desired consistency.
    1/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, 1 packet prepared icing
