I enjoy the light alfredo sauce which mixes nicely with the ham and broccoli.  I also like that if you cut the broccoli florets up small enough the kids don’t seem to notice they’re eating vegetables!  Mushrooms could be sauteed or cooked in the air fryer and added to this meal as well. Peas could easily be mixed in the pasta too.

We always have ham on hand because it has a great flavor and protein, which growing kids need. This recipe is similar to a ham and alfredo bake, but can be made more quickly on the stove top.  If you dutch oven pan allows it could easily be put in the oven to keep warm and bake just a bit until the crowd is ready to eat.

This recipe is on our family meal rotation because it truly is quick.  We put the water on the stove to boil, cut up fresh broccoli and cube the ham.  By this time the water should be boiling.  Angel hair spaghetti is our preference and it cooks in 3-5 minutes.  So, we put the pasta in for one minute before adding the broccoli.

When the pasta was al dente, our preference, we drained the pasta and broccoli.  Then we put all of the ingredients back in the pan, and stir until everything is warm.  We all like to sprinkle parmesan cheese on our plates, but only the adults use a dash of red pepper flakes.

We love our pasta server, it helps make serving dinner even faster!

So this really is a fifteen-minute meal with only one dirty pot!  Serve with a bag of salad and dinner is done!  We also used the leftovers for lunch the next day.

Large hams are often a really good value, so we’ll pick up a ham on sale and freeze some leftovers for meals like this.  Sometimes we’ll take leftover slices of ham, go ahead and cut them up into squares and freeze in bags or containers with enough to make a quick meal like this in the future.  This is a great recipe to use leftover ham from our Easy Root Beer Ham Glaze.

This turned out exactly as expected and looks just like the photos. I used regular sized spaghetti and doubled the ham (had to use it before it went bad). Half pound ham woulda worked just fine though. I think my 1 lb was a bit much but it tasted great! I added an extra 1/4 tsp of crushed pepper and that was good too. the instructions were very clear and easy for me to make and keep a clean kitchen. Great recipe. Thank you!
