Goofy’s Kitchen is a fun place to dine in the Disneyland Hotel where you can meet four classic Disney characters.

Check out more of our family’s Disney experiences and fun family vacations.
Goofy’s Kitchen
Goofy greets you at the entrance with a professional Disney photographer. He greets you in his typical “goofy” way and poses for a photo before you head into the restaurant which is themed as being inside Goofy’s own kitchen.
The all you can eat menu for one price is an enjoyable experience inside the Disneyland Hotel. The food is fine and comes with a premium price because of the character interaction and opportunity to get signatures from four characters.
Goofy’s Kitchen is a fun restaurant for families, especially with younger kids. It is similar to Chef Mickey’s Restaurant at Walt Disney World.

Goofy meets guests at the entrance and Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Chip and Dale are all of the characters that rotate through the dining area at Goofy’s Kitchen.
The characters are easy to meet as they rotate through the dining area and stop at each table on every rotation. They each spend time with any guests that is willing to interact.
Easy to access from anywhere on the Disneyland property this restaurant takes 20 minutes or less to walk to from any Disney park or garage.
Is Goofy’s Kitchen Worth the Money?
Goofy’s Kitchen is expensive with our total being $392 (gratuity was included in our bill) for four adults and one kid. A special holiday themed buffet had a few extra foods like small portions of crab legs and special theming.
We recognize that we are paying for the Disney entertainment and experiences of meeting characters in addition to the food. The food is not worth nearly $400 alone, it is the entire experience that is special.

I would easily skip this meal to keep on a strict budget. Our family looks at extras like this as fun to save up for or to use credit card points to purchase. We all have different ways of justifying spending money and that is my personal strategy.
Is Mickey Mouse at Goofy’s Kitchen
Mickey Mouse is not present, we suspect because it’s called Goofy’s Kitchen. Mickey is available to meet at Storytellers Cafe in the Grand California Hotel.

Goofys Kitchen Dinner Menu
The menu at Goofy’s Kitchen has a variety of good foods that people enjoy.
Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza and Smore’s Pizza are a couple of the special items the location is known for.

Brunch runs from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and cost $62 per adult and $34 per child. Dinner runs from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. and costs $75 per adult and $37 per child. We noticed that gratuity was included in our bill in December 2023, but the website says taxes and gratuity are extra, so just read the receipt closely.
After being seated and drink orders taken you are quickly released to go to the buffet. A fountain drink is included in the cost of your meal.
There are several areas to the buffet or areas “inside” of Goofy’s Kitchen. Where Goofy’s assistant chefs are standing in the actual kitchen is a carving station. This is the furtherest point that I would recommend starting at.

Mouse Shaped Tables In The Center
Take the kids to the area in the center with the PB & J pizza first. This is where the chicken fingers, fries, mac and cheese and other traditional kid foods are.
There are a variety of other foods that the whole family will enjoy.

Salad Bar – A Variety of Meat Free Options
When we checked the salad bar it was often empty. This restaurant is always packed and it was a bit messy and lacking many of the dishes when we looked for food.
There are so many options that we could move on to another area, but if you see something that you want to eat grab it at that time.

Warm Side Dishes
A variety of warm side dishes changes seasonally. There are warm vegetables, mac and cheese and plenty of options to enjoy.
This area was well staffed and cleaned up more frequently.

Soft Serve Ice Cream
The kids love all of the options in this area, but it did need cleaned up.

An Extensive Dessert Area
With about any dessert that you can think of walk around the entire dessert area before starting to fill your plate!

Cupcakes, Marshmallow Salad, Pudding Desserts and some of the richest and most delightful chocolate concoctions you’ve tried are among the offerings.
We really enjoyed the Red Velvet offerings around Christmas and the kids loved the cake pops. We might have slipped a few of those back to our room to enjoy later in the week.

Is The Food Good?
The food is good, but not great. We enjoyed our meal, but the availability and cleanliness of the buffet area varied quite a bit throughout the time we were there.
We focused on celebrating our daughter’s birthday and enjoying the character interactions.

Does The Disney Credit Card Discount Work Here?
No, the 10% off your restaurant bill for having a Disney credit card does not work at Goofy’s Kitchen.
Are Reservations Hard To Get?
We had a very difficult time finding any reservations at 60 days out. We worked with our travel agent who set an alert. About a month ahead of time lots of reservations were made available in a couple different batches.
Once we got closer to arrival we were able to find several options for reservations in the app.

Check the app often, especially within 48 hours of when you would like a reservation.

More Disney Adventures and Notes From Our Family
We did a girl’s trip and stayed at the Art of Animation Resort and enjoyed a meal at the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue and Be Our Guest Restaurant inside the Magic Kingdom. It was a great trip!
Storybook Dining at Artist Point is one of my favorite Disney restaurants where our daughter’s favorite is Cinderella’s Royal Table inside the castle.
I would love to take another cruise on the Disney Wish and spend a day at Castaway Cay.
