Slow Cooker Sausage and Potatoes
Very little effort is necessary to make fork tender Sausage, Potatoes and Green Beans with light seasonings in a slow cooker.
This is a classic family dinner that is full of flavor and only takes ten minutes to prep.

Tender Sausage, Potatoes and Green Beans
Ever since roasting Kielbasa and making variations like our Roasted Smoked Sausage and Potatoes we have been in love with this combination of ingredients.
The slow cooker is hands off, no stirring or attention is needed. When using this appliance, you have a longer window of time to easily keep the meal warm and ready to serve.
The cooking method can change the meal and create a variety of eating experiences. We like using the crockpot because it cooks a protein packed, one pot meal in chicken broth until everything is tender and enjoyable.

We have several great one pot meals with sausage from Kielbasa and Sauerkraut in the Crock Pot to Kielbasa Recipe with Rice and Jambalaya recipe with Sausage. The full flavor in pork makes all of these recipes so delicious!
Ingredients Needed
- Smoked Sausage – can easily substitute Polska Kielbasa or any other pre-cooked meat.
- Potatoes – baby potatoes work well, but Yukon gold are cheaper and don’t need peeled.
- Green Beans – we like fresh green beans, frozen work fine too.
- Chicken Broth – the flavor penetrates the potatoes and is a nice addition.
- Garlic – we use fresh, but granulated garlic is fine too.
- Sea Salt & Pepper – use generously on the potatoes for the best flavor.

How To Make Slow Cooker Sausage and Potatoes
Chop the potatoes into evenly sized pieces that are roughly 1″ to 1 1/2″. Spread in an even layer in the bottom of a lightly greased crock.
I like to stir the garlic into the chicken broth and pour over the potatoes. Make sure there is a thin layer of liquid across the bottom as it infuses the potatoes with flavor and keeps everything so moist while cooking.
Next add a layer of trimmed green beans over top of the potatoes.

Season generously with salt and pepper.
Then add chunks of smoked sausage across the top.

Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or on low for 5 to 6 hours until the potatoes are tender.
This meal is done cooking when the potatoes are tender. Smaller pieces cook the fastest. Stirring once or twice can speed up the process as well as using a bigger slow cooker.
