Rum Glazed Bundt Cake
Using a bundt cake pan makes it beautiful and the rum and boxed cake mix combination is just so delicious. I love that this cake is so easy to whip up.
Serve on a pretty cake stand and you’ll have a dessert that will be very popular at potlucks and dinner parties!
The flavors us remind us of the islands and tropical atmosphere in the Bahamas where you can kick back on the beach with a mixed drink in your hand. The next best thing at home is a slice of this rum cake or a bite of one of our other tropical desserts like our Pina Colada Cake, Orange Cake with Pineapple Icing or No-Bake Pineapple Pretzel Salad.
This is another recipe from Joe’s grandma that is a new family favorite! We love how easy this cake is to make and how great it tastes.
The Rum Glaze finishes this lightly sweet cake off perfectly. Since the first time we made the cake it’s been requested at birthday parties almost as often as our The Best Rich and Moist Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake.
I shared this cake with some neighbors and asked them to describe it. Lavaughn said that it is on the order of a pound cake. She likes it because it’s not too heavy. The box of cake mix really gives great balance to the bundt cake recipe. There is a hint of sweetness, but not too much.
Our family prefers nut-free cakes, but I imagine our neighbors would love having the pecans included in the next bundt cake that we bring along.
We love how fun and unique flavor combinations can be in a bundt cake. A couple more special treats are our Lemon Blueberry Bundt Cake or Sherry Bundt Cake.
