Fruity Pebble Rice Crispy Treats Recipe

Using cereal to make a breakfast or snack recipe is a great way to impress my kids. When my kids have friends over these no bake cereal bars are the perfect treat to mix up in 10 minutes.

People get excited when they see a pan of Fruity Pebble Rice Crispy Treats on the counter. I know they’re popular because they are always gone in 3 days max.

If we get invited to a last minute get together I like to grab a box of cereal, bag of mini marshmallows and half a stick of butter to make up this super simple treat to share. We have Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal Bars, Cocoa Puffs Cereal Bars, and Captain Crunch Treats to add variety to our line-up of cereal bars.

Adults typically prefer the more balanced flavor protein adds to the marshmallows in our Cheerio Bars and Reese’s Puffs Cereal Bars. All of these recipes are so easy that you can make a couple options to share.

Ingredients Needed

  • Fruity Pebbles – a small box of the cereal works great
  • Mini Marshmallows – easiest to melt on the stove or in the microwave
  • Butter – margarine works fine too

How To Make Fruity Pebbles Treats

Open box of cereal and prep a 9 x 13″ pan with non-stick cooking spray before starting the recipe.

Set a medium sized pot on medium heat. Add butter and stir.

Melted butter and mini marshmallows in a silver pot.

Then add marshmallows and stir occasionally until they are nearly melted.

Half melted mini marshmallows in butter.

Then add cereal and stir well with a sturdy spoon or spatula.

Quickly pour into the dish and press with clean, wet fingers until the top is flat and smooth.

Microwave Version

Add butter and mini marshmallows to a large microwave safe mixing bowl.

Microwave for one minute. Stir until marshmallows are smooth and then quickly add cereal and stir it in.

Pour into a greased dish and press flat.

Recipe Tips and Tricks

  • A small box of Fruity Pebbles is 11 ounces of Fruity Pebbles is 7 cups
  • Amount of cereal can be increased a little, if increased a lot there will not be enough marshmallows to help it all stick together
  • In our Unicorn Rice Krispie treats we add marshmallow creme, but this cereal is too sweet to do that in our opinion.
  • After testing we’ve found that using a board scraper is the easiest way to cut these treats into squares.

Sweet and colorful these Fruity Pebbles Treats are a fun snack to make with the popular cereal and share with kids.

Total Time 20 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 10 ounces mini marshmallows
  • 11 ounces Fruity Pebbles

Instructions
 

  • Lightly coat a 9 x 13 pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Add butter to a medium or large pot set to medium heat.
  • When butter is mostly melted, add mini marshmallows. Stir often until nearly melted.
  • Remove pan from heat and stir in cereal.
  • Quickly pour into prepared pan. Using clean, wet hands pat until smooth on top.
  • Allow 30 to 60 minutes for cereal bars to set up, then cut into squares and serve.
