Chocolate Pizza Recipe

Our recipe for homemade chocolate pizza can compete with candy pizzas from speciality stores.  Once you make this for a party people will want this dessert recipe! This Chocolate Pizza recipe has the same premium flavors from mixing white and semisweet chocolate.

Candy pizza can easily be customized by mixing your favorite treats into the melted chocolate OR sprinkling them on top.  I will definitely make this easy dessert pizza again and mix pretzel pieces into the melted chocolate crust for a sweet and salty flair.  Peanut butter could be mixed into the melted chocolate or peanut butter candy could be sprinkled on top.

Candy Pizza

We love making this chocolate pizza for a birthday party!  It’s a gluten-free dessert option that is colorful and fun to eat.  The pan gets emptied quickly.

Ordering pizza is such an easy party option and it’s fun to keep with the theme by making these chocolate and peanut butter bar cookies into a cookie pizza or making a dessert pizza.

Use a pizza cutter to make triangular slices or just break pieces off the edge to serve.

My mom got this recipe in the 90s from a group of farm ladies that would meet monthly and discuss how to promote pork and farmers.  The lady in the group who brought this candy pizza would top it with red and green maraschino cherries.  She said this pizza is so pretty for Christmas parties.

Tips for Making Chocolate Pizza

  • Whether melting chocolate on the stove or in the microwave, stir often, use low heat and be sure not to burn the chocolate
  • Stir your favorite ingredients into the chocolate and
  • Sprinkle fun, colorful add-ins on top before the chocolate sets up
  • Melting chips substitute well for white almond bark
  • Any pan can work if a 12″ pizza pan isn’t available, just try to make as even of a layer of chocolate as possible
  • Toppings can be easily customized for fun holiday desserts like Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, 4th of July or Thanksgiving

Step By Step Instructions

  1. Melt 14 ounces of white almond bark with semi-sweet chocolate chips over low heat. Stir often until smooth.  Remove from heat.
  2. Stir in marshmallows, cereal and peanuts. Pour onto a greased 12-inch pizza pan.
  3. Sprinkle coconuts & M&Ms evenly on top.
  4. In a clean saucepan, melt the remaining 2 ounces of almond bark with oil over low heat, stirring until smooth. Drizzle over pizza.
  5. Chill until firm; store at room temperature.

Christmas Pizza

This chocolate pizza is very easy to alter the toppings. My mom loves sprinkling coconut on top and setting red and green cherries on to adorn this Christmas treat.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 ounces Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 pound white chocolate almond bark divided
  • 2 cups mini-marshmallows
  • 1 cup crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 1/2 cup coconut flakes
  • 1/3 cup M&Ms
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan over LOW heat melt 14 ounces of white almond bark with semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir until smooth and remove from heat.
  • Stir in marshmallows, cereal and peanuts. Pour onto a greased 12-inch pizza pan.
  • Sprinkle coconuts & M&Ms evenly on top.
  • In a clean saucepan, melt the remaining 2 ounces of almond bark with oil over low heat, stirring until smooth. Drizzle over pizza.
  • Chill until firm; store at room temperature.
