Recipe For Broccoli Slaw Salad With Ramen Noodles
This hearty broccoli slaw salad gets a delicious boost from a sweet, Asian-inspired dressing and a crunchy topping of crushed ramen noodles.
Inspired by a combination of our Ramen Noodle Salad and our easy Broccoli Slaw Salad we enjoy that simple ingredients are used to make this salad recipe.
Serve our broccoli salad with ramen as a starter salad or side dish unless you want to top with a sliced chicken breast to make a full meal.

We like serving this at home as an easy, healthy meal or taking it along to holiday celebrations so there’s more fresh veggies to choose from. Asian broccoli slaw salad with ramen is a change of pace from a traditional romaine salad.
Salad Ingredients Needed
- Broccoli Slaw – we use a 12 ounce bags of prepared, fresh slaw
- Green Onions – use a whole bunch including as much of the green stem as possible
- Sliced Almonds – thin slices mix-in and provide a nice accent without being over powering
- Sunflower Seeds – a lightly salted seed is another nice mix-in
- Ramen Noodles – we like the soy flavored, but chicken flavored works fine too, just reserve the packets

Asian Dressing Ingredients
- Apple cider vinegar
- Canola oil or another light, neutral oil
- Sugar – through testing I’ve cut way back on the amount used in the original recipe and never missed the extra sweetness or calories.
- Flavor packets from the noodles in the quick, homemade dressing.

Step By Step Instructions
Pour the fresh broccoli slaw into a large mixing bowl. Add plenty of chopped green onion.

I typically use a gallon sized bag that’s not totally sealed (to release a little air) and a rolling pin to lightly crush up the noodles. Pour over the slaw.
Set the seasoning packets aside to use in the dressing.
Add almonds and sunflower seeds to the salad too. Toss lightly before adding the dressing.

In a small dish or bowl use a spoon to stir together the dressing ingredients.

The dressing can be poured over the ramen noodle salad with broccoli slaw and served right away. Or prepare ahead and stir together quickly before serving.

Recipe Tips and Tricks
- Layer the broccoli salad ahead of time. Then toss the dry ramen noodles and dressing with the other ingredients when ready to serve.
- We have an OXO dressing mixer that’s great to use for traveling to parties and quickly mixing the dressing together as it separates quickly while being stored.
- Serving with tongs is often easier than using a spoon or pair of forks. These tongs with wooden grips are pretty and functional.
- Using fresh, firm, dark green broccoli slaw is important to making a quality salad. Bag of slaw typically hold up well, but on occasion they will go bad before the use by date.
