We’re on day four of the back to school time routine. This routine totally changes our little people. Our waking times, our bedtimes, the necessity to eat dinner without putting it off for another hour. Life is getting more rigid again. When the effort and difficulty increase in one area another area has to get easier. For us meals have to get easier while still providing a variety of food groups.

Cheeseburger Pie Without Bisquick
Our farming family raises beef cattle, so we always have plenty of ground beef in the freezer. We always enjoy a classic hamburger and this Cheeseburger Pie with Pie Crust takes a classic meal to a whole new level of enjoyment! Cheeseburger Pie is one of our favorite easy meals with ground beef that tastes great all year around. We love this version that is made without bisquick.
I think this hearty dish that is more palatable and easier to eat than a loaded cheeseburger. Meat mixed with sauce and bread crumbs is easier for me to eat and more enjoyable, so that’s another reason I love this recipe! The sauce helps keep the hamburger really moist which is also a plus. The bread crumbs and tomato sauce almost taste a meatball in a pie crust.
Topped off with a think layer of cheese and bacon make a perfect blend of flavors for a family-friendly meal. We like to serve lettuce, tomato, and pickles on the side. Some of us like a lot of salad with our cheeseburger pie and others in our family prefer to eat smaller portions similar to what would actually be served on a cheeseburger.
