Easy Pork Tenderloin Recipe in the Instant Pot

My friend Chef Alli created this recipe when I asked her how to make a pork tenderloin in the Instant Pot.  She told me a pork tenderloin cooks in ONE MINUTE.  I didn’t believe her.  So I tried this recipe with one pork tenderloin for one minute.  It was beautiful and delicious!  After trying this recipe multiple times and LOVING it every time I’m a believer.

The best cut of pork, pork tenderloin, is properly cooked, tender and delicious in just one minute in the Instant Pot!

We love properly cooked pork.  As farmers, we understand that pork is juicy, tender and safe to eat when cooked to an internal temperature of 145º F.  Pressuring cooking the pork tenderloin made it very juicy, but it didn’t have the typical blush of pink.  That is fine, just a difference in the cooking method.  I always use a meat thermometer to ensure that my meat is done.

How to Make Pork Tenderloin in the Instant Pot

Begin by trimming any silver skin from the tenderloin, sometimes pork tenderloins come with the fat or silver skin trimmed off.  Peel, core and cut the apples because once the cooking starts it moves pretty quickly!

We have noticed that thicker sliced apples still resemble an apple slice after being pressure cooked, where thinly sliced apples turn into applesauce.  Both taste great though!

Season pork tenderloin with steak seasoning.  Using the saute setting on the Instant Pot, add 2 tablespoons oil; when the oil is hot and sizzling, add the pork tenderloin, browning it on all sides.  Remember brown is a flavor, not just a color.  Transfer the tenderloin to a plate.

Reserve pork tenderloin next to Instant Pot while preparing apple cranberry sauce

Make the sauce in the Instant Pot by adding the remaining tablespoon of oil, the flour and 2 tablespoons of chicken broth.  Cook for 1 minute, stirring as it cooks.

Whisk in the apple juice, remaining broth, cranberries and brown sugar, stirring to bring up any browned particles from the bottom of the pot into the sauce.  Add the sliced apples to the pot, then nestle the pork tenderloin on top.

The aroma is great and the sauce may be the best part of this meal!

Lock the Instant Pot lid into place and choose the High-Pressure setting for ONE minute, bringing the pot to full pressure.  When the timer sounds, immediately unplug the Instant Pot and use a natural release for 10 minutes, followed by an immediate quick release to remove any remaining pressure, if it’s still there.
