Swiss Ham and Noodle Casserole

A great way to use leftover ham, this is a classic casserole that mixes Swiss cheese into ham and noodles to make a warm, creamy homemade meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup onion chopped
  • 10 1/2 ounce can cream of onion soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 ounces wide egg noodles cooked and drained
  • 2 cups Swiss cheese shredded
  • 2 cups ham cubed

Instructions

  • Cook noodles according to the directions on the package, drain and set aside. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to prevent sticking together if wait will be long.

  • In a deep skillet melt butter and sauté onion.

  • Remove from heat and stir in soup and sour cream.
    10 1/2 ounce can cream of onion soup, 1 cup sour cream
  • Butter a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Layer half of noodles, half of the soup mixture, half of the cheese and half of the ham.
    2 cups Swiss cheese, 2 cups ham
  • Layer remaining noodles and creamy mixture. Finish with cheese and ham on top.
  • Cover and bake in an oven preheated to 350℉ for 25 to 35 minutes or until cheese is melted and casserole is heated through. Serve warm and enjoy!
