Pasta With Sauerkraut and Kielbasa

Bow tie pasta simmers in a rich, buttery onion and beef broth with savory kielbasa and tangy sauerkraut stirred in for extra depth of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 16 ounces Kielbasa Sausage
  • 16 ounces sauerkraut drained and rinsed
  • 1 pound bow tie pasta reserve 1 cup cooking water
  • 1 cup pasta water reserved

Instructions

  • Cook 1 pound bow tie pasta according to the directions on the package. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  • In a large pan saute 1 medium onion in 1/2 cup butter until soft.
  • Add 1 teaspoon beef bouillon and stir until dissolved. Then add 1 tablespoon mustard and stir well.
  • Stir in 16 ounces Kielbasa Sausage and 16 ounces sauerkraut. Cook covered for 5 - 10 minutes until sausage is lightly browned on the edges. Stir occasionally.
  • Turn down to low heat and carefully stir in cooked pasta. Add 1/2 up to 1 cup pasta water. Cover and gently heat for 10 minutes to allow pasta to absorb other flavors. Stir again before serving.
