Old Fashioned Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 8 large Jonathon apples peeled and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 7 tablespoons butter softened

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350℉ and butter an 8 x 8 or similar sized square casserole dish.
  • Pour water in the dish and sprinkle cinnamon on top.
  • Mix together flour, sugar and butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over the apples.
  • Bake at 350℉ for 30 to 40 minutes or until apples are soft.

Notes

-Any firm and slightly tart apple works well in this recipe including granny smith or other baking apples
