Oatmeal Fruit Bars

Filled with a can of cherry pie filling baked between layers of a simple oatmeal mixture, our easy Oatmeal Fruit Bars make a great dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups quick oats
  • 21 ounce can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400℉.
  • In a medium sized bowl mix butter and sugar thoroughly.
    3/4 cup butter, 1 cup brown sugar
  • In a small dish stir together flour, salt and baking soda.
    1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Stir in oats and mix until crumbly.
    1 1/2 cups quick oats
  • Press half of the crumbs (2 cups) into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13" baking pan. Press flat with your fingers.
  • Spoon pie filling over the oats as evenly as possible and cover with remaining crumbs, gently pat the top to flatten.
    21 ounce can cherry pie filling
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars, enjoy!
