French Toast with Cinnamon Bread

A breakfast shortcut to save time and maximize flavor, my kids love this easy Cinnamon Bread French Toast recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3 slices cinnamon bread
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  • In a small mixing bowl beat eggs. Add milk and vanilla and whisk together.
  • Dip 3 to 4 slices of bread in egg mixture. Let it soak in for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Set a large skillet on medium high heat and add butter to hot skillet - spread butter out.
  • Add a single layer of bread coated in the egg mixture.
  • Cook 3 to 5 minutes on the first side, checking the bottom side occasionally. Once the toast begins to brown, quickly flip each piece once and cook half as long on the second side - about 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup or powdered sugar.

Notes

  • Use 3 thicker slices or 4 thinner slices of cinnamon swirl bread.
