Ingredients
1poundlean ground beef
1mediumonionchopped
1teaspoongarlic powder
2cupswhite riceuncooked
8ouncesmushroomschopped
21ouncesFrench onion soup
21ouncesBeef consomme
1/2cupbutter
Instructions
Brown and drain 1 pound lean ground beef.
Add 1 teaspoon garlic powder and 1 medium onion chopped to skillet; mix in and cook until tender.
In a 9 x 13" spread beef and onion mixture in an even layer.
Then spread a layer of uncooked 2 cups white rice on top.
Layer 8 ounces mushrooms, chopped. then pour two cans or 21 ounces French onion soup and two cans or 21 ounces Beef consomme over the top.
Slice 1/2 cup butter and arrange evenly over the top.
Cover with foil and bake for 50 minutes to an hour in an oven preheated to 400℉. Remove from oven and stir well. Serve warm when rice is tender.
