Easy Apple Dapple Cake

One of the sweetest fall treat recipes, this easy Apple Dapple Cake has a caramel glaze and is packed full of fresh apples. The combination of fresh apples in the cake with a warm glaze is hard to beat!

Ingredients

Cake

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 4 cups apples diced
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts optional

Glaze

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

Cake

  • Heat oven to 325°F.  Grease and flour 13"x9"x2" sheet cake pan.  Combine sugar and eggs, beat well.  Add oil, cream well.
  • Add flour, baking soda and cinnamon.  Stir well. 
  • Stir in apples and nuts.  
  • Pour into greased and floured cake pan.  Bake 40 - 50 minutes.  Cake is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Glaze

  • Combine brown sugar, butter and milk in saucepan.  Bring to a boil.  Boil for 1 minute.  Pour hot glaze over warm cake.
