Ingredients

Cake

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts optional

Filling

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces whipped topping thawed

Pudding Layer

  • 6 ounces instant chocolate pudding
  • 3 1/2 cups milk

Topping

  • 8 ounces whipped topping thawed
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions

Cake

  • Melt butter and stir in sugar, flour and 1/4 cup of chopped nuts.
  • Press in lightly greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 15 minutes. Let cool.

Filling

  • Beat cream cheese and mix in powdered sugar and 8 ounces of whipped topping.
  • Spread over cooled crust.

Pudding Layer

  • Whisk together instant pudding mix and milk. Spread over the cream cheese mixture.

Topping

  • Top with remaining whipped topping and garnish with chopped nuts.
  • Chill before serving and store in the refrigerator.
