Ingredients
1cupbutter
2cupsbrown sugar
2well beaten eggs
2tablespoonsmilk
4cupsflour
1teaspooncream of tartar
1teaspoonbaking soda
1/2teaspoonsalt
3/4cupchopped walnuts or pecansoptional
Instructions
Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs and milk, mix well.
Slowly add dry ingredients and mix well. Mix nuts into dough OR sprinkle chopped nuts on individual cookies just before baking for a more decorative look.
Mix; let stand in rolls overnight in the refrigerator. Slice and bake in oven at 375 degrees F. for 7 to 10 minutes depending on thickness of the slice.
