Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookies

A classic oatmeal cookie is enhanced with the warm and rich flavor of butterscotch morsels to create an easy dessert that we always come back to.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup shortening
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 1/2 cups butterscotch chips

Instructions

  • Grease baking sheet and preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together.
    2 1/2 cups flour, 1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, 1 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • Blend sugars, shortening, eggs, and vanilla.
    1 1/4 cup sugar, 1 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 1/4 cup shortening, 3 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Add dry ingredients, mix well. Stir in oats and then mix in butterscotch chips.
    2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats, 1 1/2 cups butterscotch chips
  • Space 2 inches apart and bake at 350℉ for 12 - 15 minutes.
