Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 large onion about 1 cup
  • 28 ounce can petite diced tomatoes
  • 46 ounce can tomato juice
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 16 ounce mild chili beans

Instructions

  • Cook and stir hamburger and onion until hamburger is light brown; drain.
  • Stir in tomatoes (with liquid), chili powder, salt, sugar, tomato juice and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Heat to boiling; reduce heat.  Cover and simmer about 45 minutes.
  • Stir in beans.  Heat to boiling; reduce heat.  Simmer uncovered until hot, about 15 minutes.
  • Note:  For thicker chili continue simmering, stirring occasionally, until desired consistency.
