Cheesy Ground Beef Tortellini

Cheesy, creamy and rich with a generous portion of meat in every bite this Ground Beef Tortellini is an easy skillet meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cheese tortellini
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons granulated onion
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Boil water and cook tortellini according to the instructions on the package, drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium high heat cook ground beef and drain if necessary.
  • Slice block of cream cheese over the skillet and stir until melted.
  • Add marinara sauce and stir.
  • Season the mixture with salt, pepper and other herbs. Stir well.
  • Once meat and sauce mixture is simmering add cooked and drained tortellini to the skillet and stir well. Return mixture to a simmer.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top and bake in an a preheated 350℉ oven for 5-7 minutes. Broil for one additional minute until brown and bubbly if desired.

Notes

  • Once the pasta is added the cheese can be stirred in, cooked until melted and served immediately if desired. The baking is an additional step that is personal preference.
