Biscuit and Gravy Casserole

Layers of golden brown biscuits, creamy gravy and sausage come together to make this super easy and delicious Sausage Biscuit and Gravy Casserole Recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 16 ounce tubes Jumbo biscuits butter flavored
  • 1 pound pork sausage or ground pork
  • 2 15 ounce cans Country sausage gravy
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375℉ and grease 9 x 13" casserole dish.
  • Cut biscuits into quarters. Put one tube of biscuits in the bottom of casserole dish. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes until biscuits are mostly cooked.
  • Cook and crumble sausage. Drain and spread meat over bottom layer of biscuits.
  • Using the same skillet add cans of sausage gravy and warm. Stir often and cook until lightly browned for the best flavor. Pour over the sausage in the casserole dish.
  • Sprinkle freshly ground black pepper over the gravy to taste.
  • Arranged remaining biscuits in a single layer on top of the casserole.
  • Bake uncovered for 10 minutes. Then remove from the oven and cover with aluminum foil; bake for another 15 minutes.
  • Melt butter and brush over top of biscuits when done baking.

Notes

  • Ground pork seasoned to your liking may be cheaper than buying sausage.
