Carrot Bread Farmhouse Style

Our family loves this Farmhouse Carrot Bread Recipe that tastes so sweet and has two cups of carrots in each loaf.  The cinnamon flavor stands out and makes this easy quick bread perfect to enjoy at breakfast, brunch or for a snack.  Spread some real butter on a warm slice of carrot bread and this is the easiest way to eat more vegetables for breakfast!

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 4 cups fresh grated carrots


  • Mix well brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs and oil.
  • In a separate bowl mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, allspice and cinnamon. Slowly stir into wet mixture
  • Stir in carrots.
  • Divide batter evenly between 2 loaf pans that have been greased and floured. Bake in a 350°F oven for 1 hour until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.



  • Do not over mix bread as too much air will be released
  • Use the listed amount of leavening agents (baking powder and baking soda) - using too much or too little may cause the loaf to be too dense and flat
  • Grated carrots should be evenly sized to best mix into the loaf
  • We use this brand of grater for great results
  • Carrots will be visible in each slice to evenly sized pieces will increase the visual appeal
