Sloppy Jane Sandwiches
Our Sloppy Jane recipe is a healthy cross between chili and Sloppy Joes that makes great sandwiches. This is a hearty sandwich is made with ground turkey or ground chicken so it is lighter and lower in calories.
Servings 4 sandwiches
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup onion chopped
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 8 ounce can tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- 4 hamburger buns, buttered and toasted
Heat oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add the onion and stir often until softened; about 3-5 minutes.
Add the turkey. Use spoon or spatula to break up into small pieces and cook for about 5 minutes until the meat is no longer pink.
Add the remaining ingredients, reduce heat to low and cook until the flavors are blended, about 10 minutes.
