Hot Bacon Salad Dressing
Do you need a healthy side dish that still tastes great? Bacon makes everything better, especially salad! This hot bacon salad dressing is a delicious recipe that’s been in our family for years! #saladdressing
Servings 6 people
- 1 pound fresh spinach we prefer baby spinach
- 1/4 pound bacon
- 1 medium onion diced
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- pinch pepper
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/2 can canned beef broth
Wash and trim spinach if necessary. Allow to dry.
Saute bacon in skillet until crisp. Drain on paper towel, crumble and set aside.
Saute onion in bacon drippings until soft. Stir in vinegars, salt, pepper and sugar.
Blend cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of the broth in a small cup. Add to mixture in the skillet. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
Pour over spinach, toss well. Sprinkle with remaining bacon!
