Farmhouse Cinnamon Applesauce Muffins

A cross between a muffin and cupcake, Farmhouse Cinnamon Applesauce Muffins are super moist and really easy to make. The recipe features a light powdered sugar icing drizzle that makes these muffins irresistible!

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 2/3 cups Hershey's Cinnamon Chips 10 oz package, reserve 1/4 cup chips


  • 3/4 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons warm water


  • Grease muffin tins well and preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a mixing bowl beat softened butter and sugar until well blended. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in applesauce.
  • In a seperate bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture until well blended.
  • Drop into greased muffin tin and bake 14 - 18 minutes until a wooden toothpick inserted in center of muffin comes out clean. Let cool. Remove from tins.
  • Stir together powdered sugar and enough warm water to make icing your preferred consistency. Drizzle over slighly warm cupcakes.
