Banana Graham Cracker Dessert with Whipped Cream

When the weather is super hot and you want a light, fluffy refreshing banana dessert this is perfect!  If you love this recipe you’ll also enjoy Banana Lollipops and Banana Split Cake.

A few simple ingredients whipped together taste great, but not too sweet during the dog days of summer.  Fresh fruit is always great to work into summer desserts.

My son was helping build a deck at church and I volunteered to make some food to share with the workers.  I had ripening bananas on hand and a big jug of heavy whipping cream.  I have got also got a great stack of recipes from 4-H cooking contests in the 90s and one of those inspired this recipe.

The original recipe is called Lopsey and the youth group came up with a better name – Banana Creamer.  One of the kids said that he could eat the entire bowl.  The other kids and adults that enjoy bananas and cream also really enjoyed this dessert.

Banana Creamer will definitely be a new regular on our summer menu rotation along with our Angel Food Cake Trifle!

Easy Banana Dessert Recipes Quick

We love pudding desserts like Easy Banana Cream Delight, but we love that our Banana Creamer is slightly different because it doesn’t have any pudding in it.  Another year-round quick banana dessert is our Banana Split Cake.  The crust requires baking on the Banana Split Cake and our Banana Creamer is a no-bake dessert.

This dessert is so quick to make.  Whipping the cream is by far the most challenging part of this recipe.  Be sure and set your mixing bowl and beater in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes ahead of time so they can get cold.  When the utensils are cold it will speed up the whipping time.  Add a little sugar and vanilla to the heavy whipping cream and then layer graham crackers, whipped cream and bananas.

I like this dessert because it can be decorated and made to look different each time!  Have fun and be creative.

A kid’s safe kitchen knife is always in our drawer.  We have one that might’ve come from a pumpkin carving set.  There are several kids safe knives here from Amazon.  I like to keep my kids with me and keep them busy.   This is the perfect recipe to make together if you’re not too worried about getting a perfect look on your finished dish.
