My kids love spaghetti and ham, so why not mix them together for a quick and easy family meal that makes them happy? This ham and alfredo spaghetti recipe is the perfect meal for picky eaters and busy families. Clean-up is easy because there is only one dirty pot and everyone in our family LOVES it!
Spaghetti for All Ages to Enjoy
I enjoy the light alfredo sauce which mixes nicely with the ham and broccoli. I also like that if you cut the broccoli florets up small enough the kids don’t seem to notice they’re eating vegetables! We always have ham on hand because it has a great flavor and protein, which growing kids need.
This recipe is on our family meal rotation because it truly is quick. We put the water on the stove to boil, cut up fresh broccoli and cubed the ham. By this time the water was boiling. We used a package of angel hair pasta which cooks in 3-5 minutes, so we put the pasta in for one minute before adding the broccoli. When the pasta was al dente, our preference, we drained the pasta and broccoli. Then we put all of the ingredients back in the pan, added the ham and alfredo until everything is warm. We all sprinkled parmesan cheese on our plates, but only the adults used a dash of red pepper flakes.
We love our pasta server, it helps make serving dinner even faster!
So this really is a fifteen minute meal with only one dirty pot! Serve with a bag of salad and dinner is done! We also used the leftovers for lunch the next day.
Large hams are often a really good value, so we’ll pick up a ham on sale and freeze some leftovers for meals like this. Sometimes we’ll take leftover slices of ham, go ahead and cut them up into squares and freeze in bags or containers with enough to make a quick meal like this in the future.
